Well I made it, this surgery wasn’t to bad, I have been walking around with this hernia for about 12 years, I just kept putting it off, until the daily pain was so bad I just couldn’t take it any more. I ended up with a “double” Direct Inguinal Hernia. On the left side it was the size of a baseball, the right side was just starting to develop. So I got the two for one special with the surgery. This is day three of recovery, the pain is not to bad, taking Oxycodone when needed. Maybe four weeks without lifting over 20lbs, we will see…………………..
Well, we will be going in Tuesday the 29th for Laparoscopic Hernia Repair (double), if you don’t see another post, you’ll know I didn’t make it. This does sound pretty cut and dried, no big deal, BUT I have NEVER, and I say Never, been cut on. I was telling the Doc, “I’m a Virgin”, he said no big deal. We will see………………….Later.
Well I just got back from my shade tree wrench with my LHS, its been leaving a little trans fluid on the garage floor. My wrench tells me that this is not uncommon that these tranny cooler lines start leaking after some time (96,000mi.). Searched around a little on the web, and couldn’t find any info on the subject. Anyways estimate to do the repair — around $200 and change. May just do this one myself, looks like the parts run around 55 bucks.
Mark Knowles has put together a nice 2008 Motorcycle Guide, very informative, no bullshit, straight up article, I like it. He covers the 2008, model ranges and changes for each class, Sport Bikes, Cruisers and Tourers, (with a separate Harley section), Street Bikes, Sport Tourers, Dual Purpose Bikes, Off Road and Moto X, Budget and Commuter Bikes, and Monster Bikes.
