Supporting Fast Friends Of Colorado

We all get together at different times of the year and support various programs that benefit someone or something in need. When that someone or something involves kids and their families we really step it up.

I just received an email from a newly formed non-profit out of Alamosa County in Colorado. The non-profit, Fast Friends main mission, is to assist families of children with life-threatening conditions in the San Luis Valley of Colorado.

They just had their first fundraiser in March, with the First Annual Winter Wipeout Swap Meet, held at Ski-Hi Park in Monte Vista, Colorado. There was something for everyone. Motorcycle and car parts, crafts, drawings, live music, and even a outlaw pinewood derby, and over 60 vendors. This first year was such a great success, planning has already starting for next years Second Annual Winter Wipeout, and a summer event they are calling, The First Annual Hot Rod Homecoming.

The Hot Rod Homecoming, July 12th, looks to be one hell of a event. Details so far include a poker run, blessing of bikes and cars by American Indian Medicine Man, live music all day, motorcycle rodeo, hot rod games. All Fast Friends events are family-friendly and you’re encouraged to bring your children. To support Fast Friends efforts, attend their events or contact them and make a donation. Check out their Hot Rod Homecoming announcement web page, and here’s the link to Fast Friends Home page.
