Early estimates on attendance at the biggest motorcycle rally in the world may be a little down from last year. People are finding it easier to park around town. The Sturgis Police have only issued 35 parking tickets so far this year, which is considerably lower than 2007. The crowd may be a little more rowdy this year, since Sunday, the Sturgis PD is reporting, that they have put 19 more people in jail than last year on traffic issues. Non-traffic arrests are also seeing a increase, with 61 rally goers being arrested and 298 calls for service. The official numbers for the 68th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally will not be complete until all the garbage is collected and weighed by the ton, to estimate the attendance for the 2008 Rally.
