A Little Something About Dad on Fathers Day
I lost my dad nine and a half years ago. He went in for knee replacement surgery and never made it. While he was in ICU after the surgery my mom called to let me know she had just put gas in the car. This was the first time my mom ever had to operate a gas pump and put gas in a car. Not bad seeing how she was 68 years old at the time, which says a little something about my dad.
This is the only picture I have of my dad on a motorcycle.

That is my dad on the back, and my uncle on the bars of his 1939, 61in. knuckle (circa 1941). My dad told me he was on this knuckle doing about 40 mph when a farmers pig ran out in front of him. He hit the pig and went down with the bike. He said he got tore up pretty good, killed the pig, and just messed up the knuckle a little. My uncle was serving during WWII at the time and when he got home he didn’t notice a thing, and my dad never road a motorcycle again.
Happy Fathers Day to all you dads!
Ride safe and watch out for pigs.
