Ya Feelin Alright
I’m not feelin’ to good myself, but I’m feeling better every day.
I got in to see my Cancer Doc (Oncologists) last Monday, she had the results of the PET scan that was done the Thursday Before. The scan came back showing cancer tumors only in the abdomen area. All other areas of my body are free of cancer. All sources of cancer have been eliminated except, Liver, Testicular and Pancreatic. So it’s confirmed I fall into the 2 to 4 percent of all cancer patients that have a cancer whose primary site is never identified. In other words, Cancer of Unknown Primary Origin, or CUP.
With that out of the way (we did consider this good news) we were able to move forward with treatment, the next day I went in for my first chemo treatment. This went pretty good they hooked me up and plugged me in and after nine hours I was outta there. That night I sleep like a baby, the next day I felt really good. Then for the next three days I felt like shit. Now I’m coming around to feeling alright.
My chemo treatments are 21 days apart, so if I can shake it off after just four days I may be able to go back to work and make some money to pay some of these bills that are slowly trickling in through my mail box.
Labor Day weekend is always the time of year we get together with my cousin in downtown Denver for the Taste of Colorado. This is something we have been doing for over fifteen years. And this year on the Main Stage, playing for free was Dave Mason. I haven’t received a taste report from my cuz, but I’m sure Mason played “Ya Feelin’ Alright”. Sorry we had to miss this years date, but there’s always next year, and I plan on being there.
I’m surrounded by a solid support group of family, friends and you, my cyberspace friends. I hope to get out on the 68 soon for some reports from the road. It may be awhile before we get out on the 49, but she’s staying warm in the garage.
Again thanks for stopping by and checking on my status. Keep those thoughts and prayers coming, I feel my situation is only temporary and we shall overcome.
